Welcome to the Wonderful World of Venice Central's "Virtual Venetian Tour Guide," or as we like to call it around here, V.V.T.G. As Kipp already explained, if you've clicked on the box at the top of this page, any time you see a big spinning box anywhere on this site, click on it, and a member of Venice will tell you the story behind whatever it is you're looking at. There are almost 300 separate entries all over the webpage. It's kind of the internet equivalent of a DVD audio commentary.
When you see a
small box (
), it means that
the link next to it will lead you to an entry. Following
those small boxes will save you from wasting your time on an Easter
Egg hunt.
If you find you're having trouble figuring out who's talking, come back here and use the four entries up above for reference. I can tell you that Kipp talks the most, Pat talks the least, and Mark and Michael are about even.
All entries are 28.8k RealAudio files. I kept it at a low bandwidth to help make it accessible to more people, and also cut down on buffering and bandwidth problems. If you need to download and install RealPlayer, click here.
Over time, as new elements are added to Venice Central, new VVTG entries will be added as well. The goal is to do a new session every time a new album is released, at at that session, we'll hit on all the things that have been added to the site in the years in between.
Thanks to my brother, Aaron Levitz, for designing and animating the spinning box. For the record, Aaron also put together the Venice Central logo on the main page, and the four-Lennon-collage that serves as the basis for our opening flash animation. His webpage is here.
And a HUGE thank you to Kipp, Mark, Michael and Pat, for taking the time to sit down with me for a staggering amount of time (roughly 5 1/2 working hours total on their part for our 1999 session, and then an additional 3 hours in September of 2002), to help me make this concept a reality.
Enjoy!
