If you're not already aware of Venice drummer Jamie Wollam's other
band Avion, do yourself a favor and head to their MySpace page
over
here to
listen to four of their tracks. Sounds great, right? Well,
I'm happy to report that they've just been signed to Icon Records,
and their amazing sophomore CD, "Pain is a Megaphone,"
will be released in April, with touring to follow. Congrats,
Jamie!
For those of you in the Los Angeles area, Jamie and Avion's lead singer Steve Bertrand will be doing a special 2-man acoustic set tomorrow night (Monday, November 27th) at 8:00pm at Molly Malone's, in the back room. (757 S. Fairfax Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90036 -- Between Wilshire and 3rd.) Jamie won't be playing drums, he'll play acoustic guitar and sing backup. Cover charge is only $5. Trust me, you won't want to miss this!
Jamie is also working with an artist named Drake Bell (co-star of Nickelodeon's "Drake and Josh," for those of you with teenage daughters), and he'll be performing as part of Drake's band on "The Regis and Kelly Show" on Thursday, November 30th, and on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on Wednesday, December 6th. You can check out Drake's music over here.
No wonder Jamie
couldn't join Venice on their current Dutch tour. Busy guy...
