SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA-BASED VENICE RELEASES
SPIN ART ON VANGUARD RECORDS

-Features cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide"-

SANTA MONICA, CA - Known for their unparalleled four-part harmonies, legendary live performances and depicted as "the best vocal group in the country" by David Crosby, Vanguard Records recording artist Venice will release Spin Art on August 24, the follow-up to their highly acclaimed label debut Born and Raised.

Recorded at Lennon Music Studios, Spin Art was produced and engineered by Michael Lennon and mixed by Thom Panunzio (Bruce Springsteen, Mary Cutrufello, Reverend Horton Heat) and features 13 tracks, including a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide."  Highlighting the band's signature four-part harmonies, Spin Art combines warm acoustic-pop, pulsing ethnic grooves and electric guitars around finely crafter songs to deliver their quintessential sound.

Due to the international success of Born and Raised, Spin Art will be released June 14 in Holland by ZYX Music to coincide with a one-hour special, 2 Meter Sessies.  Filming in the U.S., 2 Meter Sessies, set to air June 25, profiles the band and includes footage of their studio recording sessions as well as interviews and duets with long-time friends David Crosby and Jackson Browne, who they accompany on "Guinnevere" and "For A Dancer," respectively.

Established as one of the most respected and eclectic groups on the Los Angeles club scene, Venice was formed nearly 17 years ago by cousins Kipp and Michael Lennon along with their respective brothers Pat and Mark Lennon.  As the younger brothers and cousins of the Lennon Sisters from the Lawrence Welk Show and the songs of the 1940s group the Lennon Brothers, Venice's roots are firmly established in a rich musical heritage.

With extensive touring in support of Born and Raised (1997), Venice garnered substantial support throughout the U.S., enjoying radio success at triple-A and AC radio.  They also appeared on nine local morning shows and on CNN's Showbiz Today, Access Hollywood, E! Entertainment Television, Entertainment Tonight and Live With Regis and Kathie Lee.
